FOB South Africa - International Shipping Information

FOB (Free On Board) Shipping from South Africa

Keiconnect Technologies offers FOB shipping terms for international orders. This page explains how FOB shipping works and what you need to know when ordering from us.

What is FOB Shipping?

FOB (Free On Board) means that we prepare your order at our warehouse in South Africa and make it available for collection by your designated carrier. Once the goods are loaded onto your carrier's vehicle and signed for, ownership and responsibility transfer to you, the buyer.

How FOB South Africa Works

1. Order Placement
Place your order through our website or contact us directly for bulk or custom orders.

2. Preparation & Packaging
We carefully package your solar panels, inverters, batteries, CCTV systems, or LED lighting for international transport at our warehouse, ensuring proper protection and compliance with shipping regulations.

3. Carrier Collection from Our Warehouse
Your designated freight forwarder or carrier collects the goods directly from our warehouse in South Africa. We will coordinate the collection time and provide all necessary documentation.

4. Transfer of Responsibility
Once your carrier loads the goods and signs the collection documentation, responsibility transfers to you. You will receive all necessary shipping and export documentation.

5. Your Responsibilities
From the point of collection, you are responsible for:

  • Arranging and paying for your freight forwarder/carrier
  • Transport from our warehouse to port/airport
  • International freight costs
  • Marine or cargo insurance
  • Export documentation and clearance (if required)
  • Import duties and taxes in your country
  • Customs clearance at destination
  • Final delivery to your location

Important Disclaimer

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

By placing an order under FOB South Africa terms, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Risk Transfer: All risk of loss or damage to the goods passes to you once the goods are loaded onto your carrier's vehicle and collection is signed for at our warehouse.
  • Collection Responsibility: You are responsible for arranging and paying for collection from our warehouse. If your carrier fails to collect within the agreed timeframe, storage fees may apply.
  • No Liability for Transit: Keiconnect Technologies Pty Ltd is not responsible for any loss, damage, delay, or additional costs incurred after collection from our warehouse, including transport to port, international transit, customs clearance, or final delivery.
  • Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive cargo insurance from the point of collection. Keiconnect Technologies does not provide insurance coverage beyond the point of handover to your carrier.
  • Loading Assistance: While we will assist with loading where possible, your carrier must have appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, etc.) for heavy items. We are not responsible for loading delays or difficulties due to inadequate carrier equipment.
  • Import Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all export and import regulations, obtaining necessary permits, and paying all duties, taxes, and fees.
  • Customs Delays: We are not responsible for delays caused by customs inspections, documentation issues, or regulatory holds in any country.
  • Product Compatibility: Ensure that all electrical products (inverters, solar panels, batteries) are compatible with your local voltage, frequency, and regulatory standards. We are not liable for incompatibility issues.
  • Battery Shipping: Lithium batteries are classified as dangerous goods (Class 9) and subject to strict shipping regulations. Your freight forwarder must be certified to handle dangerous goods. Additional fees, packaging requirements, and restrictions apply. Some carriers and airlines may refuse battery shipments.
  • Inspection at Collection: Your carrier should inspect goods at the time of collection. Claims for visible damage or shortages must be noted on the collection receipt. Claims made after collection may not be accepted.
  • Warranty: Product warranties begin from the date of collection from our warehouse, not from the date of delivery to your final location. Transit time does not extend warranty periods.
  • Returns: International returns under FOB terms are complex and costly. Please verify all product specifications before ordering. Return shipping costs, duties, and collection fees are non-refundable. Returns require prior authorization.
  • Storage Fees: If goods are not collected within 7 days of the agreed collection date, storage fees of [amount] per day may apply. We reserve the right to re-sell goods not collected within 30 days.

By proceeding with your order, you confirm that you understand and accept these FOB shipping terms and conditions.
